Assessments & Functional Lab Testing
Nutritional Assessment Questionaire (NAQ)
What It Is
As part of your intake, you’ll complete a Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ). It is a detailed symptom survey that helps us see how your body is functioning on a deeper level.
The NAQ looks at patterns in areas like digestion, energy, mood, sleep, blood sugar, hormones, skin, and immune health. Instead of guessing, it allows me to connect your day-to-day symptoms with the body systems that may be under stress and most in need of support.
You’ll fill it out online at home before your first session. It usually takes about 20–30 minutes, and there are no “right” or “wrong” answers – it’s simply a snapshot of how you’re feeling right now.
What the NAQ Shows
Once your NAQ is scored, your answers are turned into an easy-to-read graph. Each bar represents a body system (for example: digestion, blood sugar, stress, sleep, nervous system) and how many symptoms you’re reporting in that area.
Lower scores suggest that system is relatively stable right now.
Higher scores suggest that system may benefit from more focused support.
The graph gives us a visual overview of where your symptoms are clustering so we can see patterns more clearly and choose a sensible, step-by-step starting point for your care plan.
How I Use Your Results
I review your NAQ results in detail and use them, alongside your health history and goals, to:
Prioritize where we start with nutrition and lifestyle changes
Decide what labs (if any) make sense for you
Track your progress over time as your scores and symptoms improve
Please note: The NAQ does not diagnose disease and is not a substitute for medical care. It’s a functional nutrition tool used to guide a root-cause approach to your wellness plan.
GI Map, Stool Test
What It Is
The GI-MAP (GI Microbial Assay Plus) is an advanced stool test that gives us a clear snapshot of your gut health. It uses DNA-based qPCR technology to assess your gut microbiome, pathogens, digestive and immune-markers. This test shows us what’s exactly going on beneath the surface.
What It Measures
This test looks at key areas that influence how you feel everyday including:
Beneficial vs. potentially overgrown bacteria
Fungi/yeast species
Parasites, and pathogens
Markers of gut inflammation
Pancreatic enzyme output, absorption markers
Gut environment & immune activity
It’s essentially a snapshot of your gut environment - what’s balanced, what’s stressed, and what needs attention.
How It Works
You collect a stool sample at home using a kit. It is shipped to the lab, processed, and the results are interpreted by me during our review. We use this data to create a tailored plan for your digestion, microbiome support, and symptom resolution.
Why It Matters
Many people experience bloating, inconsistent stools, fatigue, skin issues, or food reactions - yet traditional testing comes back ‘normal.’ The GI-MAP gives clarity about what’s happening in the gut that standard tests miss, enabling a focused root-cause approach.
Who It’s For
People Experiencing:
IBS/IBD-like symptoms (with medical care)
Chronic bloating, reflux, constipation, diarrhea, or alternation
Post-antibiotics, known gut infections, or chronic stress
Skin, fatigue or food reaction patterns linked to digestion
Long-term gut symptoms that haven’t improved with basic diet changes
Wanting real intel on gut function - not guesswork
MRT Food & Chemical Sensitivity Test
What It Is
The MRT is a blood test that measures how strongly your immune system reacts to 176 different foods and food chemicals. It helps reveal the hidden food reactions that can contribute to inflammation, digestive issues, and fatigue.
What It Measures
Instead of looking for classic allergy reactions, this test shows how much internal inflammation your body produces when exposed to certain foods or chemicals --even if those reactions happen hours or days later.
How It Works
You complete a quick blood draw using the kit provided. Once your results come in, we build a clear and realistic plan that reduces inflammation, calms reactive foods, and helps you understand what your body tolerates best.
What It Doesn’t Do
It does not test for true allergies (hives, anaphylaxis, etc.)
It does not diagnose medical conditions
It is not a standalone solution - it works best paired with the GI- Map, your symptoms, and your full protocol
Why It Helps
If you feel like “certain foods don’t sit right” but you can’t pinpoint which ones - or your reactions are delayed, inconsistent, or random - this test brings clarity. It also often reveals foods you would never suspect are causing inflammation, making it much easier to lower your overall inflammatory load to support healing.
Who It’s For
This test is ideal for people dealing with:
Digestive issues that seem food-triggered
Bloating, fatigue, headaches, or skin reactions
Unexplained inflammation
Sensitive stomach or inconsistent symptoms
A sense that something in your diet is “off,” but you can’t figure out what
